Greenstar coverage switch

Looking to have the coverage turning on and off rather than colouring in, here there and everywhere when drilling (would be handy on other operations, but would need a different method.).

Can I tie into the drills proximity sensor or fit one the other side?

Also how would I wire up the sensor?
AMS guy suggested the white cable on the loom but was few years ago and never did anything about it.
